Northlake Apartment Locator: Pecan Square Rentals and the Alliance Commute

Our Northlake apartment locator team checked 6 places this week, and 2 of them have specials. Prices start at $1,151 a month after free rent. Northlake sits on I-35W just north of Fort Worth's Alliance corridor, so for warehouse, logistics and corporate jobs there the commute is short by Denton County standards. Rentals are new: houses and townhomes for rent around Pecan Square and other new neighborhoods, plus several apartment communities that hold most of the one bedrooms. Some addresses get power from an electric cooperative, and race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway jam I-35W.

Northlake Apartments and New Rental Homes by Alliance

  • We ask each rental home company about its income rules and conditional approval options before you apply
  • We ask about lighting and gate entry for anyone coming home from an Alliance shift at 2am
  • We check Texas Motor Speedway race weekends against your I-35W commute

I-35W, the Alliance jobs and race weekends

I-35W is the main road, a few minutes south to the Alliance corridor and north toward Denton. SH-114 crosses the south side of town toward Roanoke and the airport. No rail reaches Northlake, so every commute is by car. A Dallas job is a long drive from any address here.

On race weekends at Texas Motor Speedway, I-35W and its frontage roads back up, so check the event calendar if you'll live near the frontage road. Trucks use that frontage road all day on workdays, too.

Rental Homes, a Few Apartment Communities and Co-op Power

Nearly everything here is new: houses and townhomes for rent in newer neighborhoods like Pecan Square, many from large rental home companies, and several apartment communities. Most plans are two and three bedrooms, with one bedrooms and studios mostly in the apartments. Older, cheaper housing is rare, so Roanoke and Denton have a wider spread of rents.

The rental home companies post their income rules and offer approvals with conditions and deposit alternatives. Some offer terms shorter or longer than 12 months, depending on what's open. Popular floor plans can carry a waitlist.

Pet policies differ by company, with their own breed and weight limits. Some Northlake homes get power from a cooperative at a fixed rate, so ask who serves the unit.

Life in Northlake along I-35W

Northlake is a newer Denton County town on I-35W, with growing neighborhoods, big warehouse parks and a short drive to outlet shopping and Texas Motor Speedway. Expect to drive for almost everything.

Getting around from Northlake

Our 8am drive times run about 34 minutes to DFW Airport, 45 to the Medical District, 46 to Legacy West and 51 to Downtown Dallas. Trucks from the Alliance warehouses share these roads. There's no train here, so you'll drive for everything.

Trails and dog parks a short drive away

Outdoor time here usually means a short drive. Knob Hills, a trail kept up by the Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association, winds through six loops along Denton Creek just west of Grapevine Lake near Roanoke. Hikers are welcome too. Canyon Falls Dog Park, a couple of miles east, gives dogs space to run. Grapevine Lake itself is close for a day on the water.

Eating out off SH-114

Most sit down meals are a short drive away, in the restaurant row near I-35W and SH-114. Rosa's Café & Tortilla Factory, Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden and Cracker Barrel are the big names, and Burgers & Curries and Amano Italian Bistro are local picks. It's mostly chains and quiet at night; for a livelier evening, plan on a drive to Denton or Fort Worth.

Outlets and errands

Tanger Outlets Fort Worth, about 3 miles from the middle of town off SH-114, is the big shopping stop, an open air outlet center for clothes and shoes. For the weekly grocery run, the newer neighborhoods here are still filling in, so the closest big store depends on which side of I-35W you live on. Send us the address and we'll tell you which one is closest.

Race days and quiet Saturdays

Texas Motor Speedway sits just south of town, and its spring NASCAR weekend brings all three national series. On race days the whole area fills with fans, so it's worth planning around. On a quieter Saturday, ride the Knob Hills loops, spend the day at Grapevine Lake or shop the outlets off SH-114.

Before you sign in Northlake

On Texas Motor Speedway race weekends, I-35W and SH-114 get heavy around the start and finish, so plan errands and airport trips around them. Warehouse trucks fill the frontage roads on weekdays, so drive your real commute at your real hour before you choose. Power providers vary here, so ask who serves the address before you shop for a plan.

Northlake questions

What's for rent in Northlake besides houses?

Several apartment communities, which hold most of the one bedrooms and studios. Rental houses and townhomes cover the rest. Those apartments ask about $1,319 for a one bedroom right now.

How close is Northlake to the Alliance jobs?

A short drive south on I-35W from most addresses, which is the main reason to rent here. A Dallas job, by contrast, is a long haul from anywhere in town.

Is Northlake on co-op power?

Parts of it are. At those addresses one company serves the home and there's no Power to Choose plan to pick. Elsewhere you can shop, so ask before you budget.

What do Speedway race weekends do to I-35W?

They jam it and the frontage roads. Look at the Speedway's calendar before you sign so you know which weekends to work around.

Is my Northlake address in Northwest ISD or Argyle ISD?

Northwest ISD serves most of the city and Argyle ISD covers part. Check the address on the district's boundary map.

Do Northlake rentals work for late shifts?

Many do, but ask each property about entry and outdoor lighting, since an Alliance late shift can mean pulling in at 2am. Each community handles it differently.

Can Northlake's rental home companies approve a rough credit file?

Often, with conditions, once your pay meets their minimum. Their rules are public, so we compare what you tell us with them before you pay a fee. The company makes the final call.

Is there an apartment locator near Northlake?

Yes. Around Northlake we follow the rental home companies and the apartment communities, with their income rules, waitlists and pet limits. We point out the homes we've found that can't shop for power and the spots right on the I-35W frontage.
