Midlothian Apartment Locator: US-67 Complexes and Rental Home Subdivisions
Free help from your Midlothian apartment locator: we checked 6 places this week, from $1,274 a month after free rent. Midlothian sits where US-67 meets US-287 in Ellis County, about 25 miles southwest of Downtown Dallas. Newer garden complexes line US-67 and the planned MidTowne area, and communities of houses built to rent fill recent subdivisions. The cement plants and steel mill on the edges of town are big employers, and their noise and dust reach some blocks more than others.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Areas we cover inside Midlothian
Historic Downtown MidlothianMidlothian's old downtown is a small grid of brick storefronts and older houses near the rail lines the town grew up around.
Rentals are mostly older homes and duplexes, and US-67 and US-287 are a few minutes away.
MidTowneMidTowne is a planned neighborhood on the south side of downtown, with newer houses and townhomes.
Rentals are mostly newer homes and townhomes, and the old downtown is a short drive north.
US-67 CorridorUS-67 runs through north Midlothian toward Cedar Hill and Dallas.
Most of the town's apartment complexes and newer shopping have gone up near its exits. Downtown Dallas is roughly 25 miles up the highway.
South MidlothianSouth Midlothian stretches toward the US-287 bypass, with newer subdivisions, homes built to rent and cement plants on the outskirts.
US-287 is the route to Waxahachie one way and Mansfield the other.
West MidlothianWest of town the land opens up, with houses on big lots, new subdivisions and the cement plants Midlothian is known for.
Rentals out here are mostly houses, and US-287 heads northwest toward Mansfield and Fort Worth.

Midlothian Apartments Along US-67, Away From Plant Dust
- We point out which homes sit closest to the plants, so you know where to visit on a weekday
- We ask about gate access at all hours and lot lighting for anyone working plant shifts
- Houses built to rent in the newer subdivisions when you want three bedrooms or a garage
- We look up Midlothian ISD or Waxahachie ISD for the exact address
US-67 North, Joe Pool Lake, and Getting Around
Most rentals sit along US-67, the commute route north through Cedar Hill and Duncanville to I-20 and Dallas. Downtown is about half an hour away with clear roads and longer at rush hour, so drive it from the exact address at the hour you'd leave. US-287 runs northwest toward Mansfield and Fort Worth and southeast to Waxahachie.
There's no DART, rail or regular bus, so plan on a car. Joe Pool Lake, the nearest big recreation spot, is north of town through Cedar Hill.
When the plants are running, noise and dust reach certain blocks. A Sunday visit won't show you what a Tuesday morning sounds like, so go on a weekday. If you work a plant shift, ask whether the gate opens at all hours and how well the lot is lit.
Garden Apartments, Houses Built to Rent, and Older Buildings
Rentals here run newer and more formal than in the smaller towns to the south. The garden complexes along US-67 and around MidTowne screen by published rules, and buildings still filling up sometimes offer free weeks. Work out the monthly price before you compare.
Newer subdivisions have whole streets of homes built to rent. They're a good fit for three bedrooms or a garage, and they screen by the same posted rules.
Older buildings are scarce and mostly near the small historic downtown, so an owner who'll make an exception is harder to find here than in Waxahachie or DeSoto. With a complicated credit history, we'll look for the newer buildings that say yes with conditions, such as a larger deposit.
