Justin Apartments Are Few: Subdivision Houses Fill the Gap

  • Houses from owners and rental home communities sorted by how each has screened, and what each has needed to approve someone with conditions
  • Who supplies the power, to check for the address, since parts of Justin can't shop plans
  • Texas Motor Speedway weekends weighed for anyone driving FM-156 south

FM-407, FM-156 and the drive to Alliance

FM-407 runs east through Northlake to I-35W, and FM-156 runs north toward Ponder and Krum and south through Haslet to Fort Worth. Justin has no DART, train or bus line. It's a driving town.

Most commutes head south on FM-156 to the Alliance jobs. Texas Motor Speedway sits about four miles south, and race weekends jam the roads near the track. Check the calendar against your move date and your weekend drives (move day on a race weekend is no fun). I-35W, to the east, is the freeway to Fort Worth or Denton.

Houses, rental home communities and co-op power

Apartment complexes are few. Most listings are houses in newer subdivisions such as Timberbrook, Harriet Creek Ranch, Wildflower Ranch and Treeline, either leased by an owner or in a rental home community.

The rental home companies use formal screening, with written ways to get approved with conditions: bigger deposits, co-signers or guarantor companies. That often makes them more open than individual owners. The HOA's parking, pet and lawn rules come with the house, so read them before you sign.

Parts of Justin get power from CoServ, a co-op that sells its own power, so there's nothing to compare. Ask who serves the address before you count on a cheaper plan.

What we tell renters about Justin

Freight trains run on the rail line through the middle of town, so if horns at night would bother you, ask us for homes farther from the tracks. On speedway race weekends, FM 156 and SH-114 back up for hours, so plan errands around them. Expect a long drive to most job centers in Dallas.

Justin questions

Are there apartment complexes in Justin?

Only a few. Most rentals are houses in subdivisions like Timberbrook and Harriet Creek Ranch. For more apartments and formal applications, Roanoke and Northlake are next door.

Is my Justin address in Northwest ISD?

Most of Justin is, though a few edge streets aren't, so confirm yours.

Why do Justin houses rent for less than Roanoke's?

Justin sits farther out from the SH-114 shops and jobs, but the school district is the same. Compare house to house, since a new rental community home and an older one leased by its owner can be far apart in price. Nearby apartments currently list one bedrooms near $1,339 with specials counted.

Can I shop for an electric plan in Justin?

Only at some addresses. Parts of Justin are on Oncor, where you can shop for a plan. Others are on CoServ, a co-op that sells its own power, so there's no plan to shop. Ask who serves the address before you count on a cheaper plan.

What do Justin HOAs control for renters?

Where you park, what pets you keep, how the yard looks, and sometimes how long you lease. The owner can't waive those rules. They differ by subdivision, so get the documents with the lease.

How does Speedway traffic hit Justin?

Hard on the roads near the track. A drive that's easy on a Tuesday can crawl on race day, so look at the Speedway calendar before you sign.

Which Justin landlords are open to a credit problem?

The rental home companies, usually, since they write down how approval with conditions works. Individual owners range from strict to easygoing.

Is there an apartment locator near Justin?

Yes. In Justin that mostly means houses, so we track the rental home companies and the owners leasing in Timberbrook, Harriet Creek Ranch and Wildflower Ranch. Before you sign, get the HOA rules and the power company for the address.
