Renting a house or an apartment in Sachse?
A 3 bedroom house here runs about $108 a month more than a 3 bedroom apartment after free rent. Free rent is part of that: before specials, a typical 3 bedroom apartment here lists for about $2,329.
With a house you usually get a yard, more room and no shared walls. You often pay water, trash and yard care yourself, and deposits can run higher.
With an apartment you pay community fees each month for things like parking, trash and amenities. Free rent usually needs a lease of 12 months or more, and the staff on site handles repairs.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Areas we cover inside Sachse
WoodbridgeWoodbridge is a planned community straddling the Sachse and Wylie line, built around Woodbridge Golf Club, with pools and greenbelt paths.
Its houses went up over many phases, and school district lines differ by section, so check the address.
Heritage ParkHeritage Park covers 34 acres in Sachse, with a railroad theme, an amphitheater, ball fields and a walking trail.
It was rebuilt alongside The Station development, and nearby housing is a mix of older and newer houses.
The StationThe Station is a large new development along the George Bush Turnpike between Miles and Merritt roads.
It mixes new apartments, houses, shops and a medical campus. PGBT access is right there, and you can walk to the shops from the newer buildings.
SH-78 CorridorMost of Sachse's shopping lines SH-78, which heads southwest to Garland and northeast to Wylie.
The George Bush Turnpike crosses nearby, so getting to Richardson and Plano is quick.
Murphy RoadMurphy Road runs north from Sachse toward Murphy and Plano through established subdivisions from the 1990s and 2000s.
Rentals here are mostly houses, and PGBT is a few minutes south.

Sachse Apartments by The Station and Woodbridge
- The Dallas or Collin County side, looked up first, since it decides Garland ISD or Wylie ISD
- Woodbridge HOA rules on parking and pets, asked for before you sign a house lease
- Bush Turnpike tolls weighed against the slower free roads for a job in Richardson or Plano
SH-78, the Bush Turnpike and no DART
SH-78 runs through town, northeast to Wylie and southwest to Garland, and it's free. The Bush Turnpike skirts the south side, west through Garland to Richardson and Plano or south through Rowlett to I-30, and it charges by the trip. Run a daily commute through NTTA's toll calculator before you compare with an address inside Dallas.
Sachse isn't a DART city, so a car does every commute. The closest trains are in Garland and Rowlett. Lake Ray Hubbard sits to the south.
Apartments at The Station, houses near Woodbridge
Sachse has several apartment communities, a few of them near The Station, and rental home communities near Woodbridge. Expect the newest ones to cost the most in town, with full amenities to match. Houses and duplexes make up the rest. Garland, Wylie and Murphy widen the search if Sachse runs short.
Rental home companies screen by posted rules and often approve with conditions. For a messy credit file, that's a clearer path than a homeowner's judgment call. In the Woodbridge subdivisions, the HOA enforces parking, pet and lawn rules on its own, separate from the landlord, so we ask for those rules in writing.

Sachse and the Bush Turnpike
Sachse's south edge follows the President George Bush Turnpike, and SH-78 cuts through toward Wylie. Our 8am drive times run about 29 minutes to Legacy West, 46 to DFW Airport, 47 to Downtown Dallas and 50 to the Medical District. Sachse isn't part of DART, so a car is a must here. The turnpike is a toll road; the free route west means slower surface streets.

Railroad parks and pocket parks
Heritage Park is Sachse's big park, with a railroad theme, an amphitheater and room to roam. Firefighters Park sits close to the middle of town. J.K. Sachse Park, Salmon Park and One Eleven Ranch Park add more lawns and playgrounds. Breckinridge Park's pavilions are a short drive west for a bigger outing.

Dinner at Firewheel
Firewheel Town Center, just south of Sachse in Garland, is an open air shopping center with restaurants lining its walkable streets. Summer nights and fall in the park

What we tell renters about Sachse
If you'll drive the Bush Turnpike every day, budget for tolls, since the free routes west are slow. There's no train in Sachse, so plan around a car. Firewheel gets busy on weekends and through the holidays, so weeknights are better for errands there.
Sachse questions
Are there regular apartments in Sachse?
Yes, a handful of communities, a few near The Station, plus rental home communities near Woodbridge and houses leased by their owners. Garland, Wylie and Murphy add more choice if you need it. Counting nearby options, a typical Sachse one bedroom runs about $1,146 this week.
Which school district serves my Sachse address?
It follows the county. The Dallas County side is Garland ISD and the Collin County side is Wylie ISD. We check the exact address before you sign.
Is my address in Dallas County or Collin County?
Either one, depending on the street. The county sets the school district and the tax rate, so we look it up on the county appraisal district's site.
What are the HOA rules in Woodbridge?
Parking, pet and lawn rules that sit on top of your lease. The HOA enforces breed limits and parking on its own and can fine you directly, so read them before you sign.
Does DART serve this area?
No. If you need the train, Garland, Richardson and Rowlett all have DART rail stations, and we can price them against Sachse for your commute.
Is there a Sachse rental for a bruised credit file?
Usually, through the rental home communities. Those companies post their rules and often approve with conditions, which beats guessing at a private owner's call. You still need enough income.
Is there an apartment locator near Sachse?
Yes. We cover Sachse from The Station to the Woodbridge rental streets. We look up the county line for every address, since that one fact decides the school district and the tax rate.
