Northeast Dallas Apartment Locator: Three Bedrooms Along Forest Lane and Audelia
Our Northeast Dallas apartment locator team checked 21 places this week, and 10 of them have specials. Prices start at $583 a month after free rent. Northeast Dallas, between Central Expressway and Jupiter Road with LBJ cutting across, is mostly older garden complexes on Forest Lane, Audelia and Abrams. They were built with bigger floor plans, so three bedroom units are easier to find here at a fair price than in most of the city. Several large properties have new owners and were partly renovated, so some list two price levels under one name.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Supermarkets and older shopping strips sit along it, with LBJ a few blocks north.

Walnut Hill and Skillman are close for shopping.
Abrams RoadAbrams Road runs north from Lakewood through Lake Highlands and past Richland's campus up to LBJ and Richardson.
Its south end is mostly houses, and apartments get more common north of Walnut Hill.

The Forest/Jupiter DART station and LBJ are both close.
LBJ/Skillman JunctionAround the LBJ/Skillman DART station and the rebuilt I-635 interchange you'll find a thick ring of older apartment complexes.

Northeast Dallas Apartment Locator for Three Bedroom Searches
- We match three bedroom floor plans on Forest Lane, Audelia and Abrams to your budget
- We ask whether a quote is for the renovated wing or an original unit before you compare quotes
- We keep notes on recent ownership changes, since a sale can reset a complex's screening rules
- We tell you which rail line serves your building, since the Blue Line and Red Line stops here head different ways
DART, I-635, and US-75: Getting Around Northeast Dallas
The area sits between Central Expressway on the west and Jupiter Road on the east, with LBJ Freeway crossing it and Forest Lane as the main east to west road. Medical City Dallas sits at the southwest corner, at Forest and Central.
Station names here trip people up. The Blue Line runs the east side with LBJ/Skillman and Forest/Jupiter stations, heading south through Lake Highlands and White Rock to Downtown. Forest Lane station, on the Red and Orange lines, sits on the west edge at Central, running through Walnut Hill and Park Lane instead. Two buildings a few miles apart on Forest Lane can be on different lines, with very different rides.
Most renters drive. LBJ and Central put the Telecom Corridor and most of North Dallas within reach, and parking in the open lots at the garden complexes usually comes with the unit.
Older Garden Complexes: What to Check Before You Sign
New construction is rare here. Nearly everything is an older garden complex, and those were built with larger units rather than studios. That's why three bedrooms turn up here at prices that are hard to match closer to downtown.
Several big properties were sold and partly renovated. A unit in the redone wing and one down the hall in original condition can have different rents under the same name online. Confirm the quote is for the exact unit you saw.
Many of these buildings divide one water bill among all units. Ask the office for the typical monthly share on your floor plan. Forest Lane and Audelia are among the first places to look with a credit issue. Check who manages the property today, though, since a new owner can bring new rules.

What we tell renters before they sign here
Jupiter Road marks the Garland city line, so check which city a home sits in. Most of Garland gets power from Garland Power & Light, the city's own utility, so there's no plan to pick on Power to Choose there. Some Garland addresses are on Oncor instead, so look at a past bill for that exact home. If you plan to ride the Blue Line every day, time the walk from your door to the station before you sign.
Northeast Dallas questions
Where do I find three bedroom apartments in Northeast Dallas?
Mostly in the older garden complexes on Forest Lane, Audelia and Abrams, which were built with larger floor plans and still offer plenty of three bedroom units. For comparison, a typical one bedroom here is $802, and the cheapest one open comes in at $583 after move-in deals.
Which train line would I use from Northeast Dallas?
That comes down to which side you're on. East of Skillman, you'd ride the Blue Line from LBJ/Skillman or Forest/Jupiter; near Central, Forest Lane station on the Red and Orange lines is closer. They take different routes to Downtown.
Is the area in Dallas ISD or Richardson ISD?
Both serve parts of it, and the line can split streets you'd expect to share a district. Check your exact street number on each district's boundary map.
What changes if a home is just across Jupiter Road?
You'd be in Garland, where most addresses buy power from Garland Power and Light (the city's own utility), so there's no plan to shop. Ask for a recent bill on that unit.
Is there an apartment locator near Northeast Dallas?
Yes, and Forest Lane is one of our regular stretches. We follow the complexes there and on Audelia and Abrams, including which were recently sold, and we'll send three bedroom plans that fit your budget, with what we found on how each one screens.
