North Irving Apartment Locator: Gated Garden Homes and Garages by DFW Airport
As your North Irving apartment locator, we checked 20 places this week, with prices from $774 a month after free rent. North Irving is the MacArthur Boulevard corridor between SH-183 and the Coppell line. It's mostly gated garden communities from the 1980s and 1990s with big floor plans, covered parking and often attached garages. The large management companies here set a lower income bar than the new Las Colinas buildings. DFW Airport's Terminal A is a short drive west, which is why so many airport job searches start here.

Renting a house or an apartment in North Irving?
A 3 bedroom house here runs about $225 a month more than a 3 bedroom apartment after free rent.
With a house you usually get a yard, more room and no shared walls. You often pay water, trash and yard care yourself, and deposits can run higher.
With an apartment you pay community fees each month for things like parking, trash and amenities. Free rent usually needs a lease of 12 months or more, and the staff on site handles repairs.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

North Irving Apartments With Garages Along MacArthur
- We ask whether each garage is included or billed monthly, since leases here go both ways
- We look for units for day sleepers away from the pool equipment and breezeway foot traffic
- We remind you to listen for flight noise at two times of day at the MacArthur addresses you like
Minutes to DFW, the Orange Line and the Flight Paths
The corridor follows MacArthur Boulevard from SH-183 north toward SH-114 and the Coppell line, with Valley Ranch on its northeast side. DFW's Terminal A and the employee lots are a short drive west, which is the main draw for anyone working at the airport.
The Orange Line stops at Belt Line Station and DFW Airport Terminal A. Irving is part of DART, so the buses here are a real way around rush hour on SH-114 and I-35E. SH-183 runs the south edge and I-635 the north, both west to the airport's entrances. Lake Carolyn and the Toyota Music Factory are a few minutes east.
Planes switch runways with the wind, so on a busy afternoon a building two miles from the field can be louder than one a mile away. Listen at the address at two different hours before you sign.
Garages, Pets and Quiet for Day Sleepers
Most buildings here are older gated garden communities with covered parking. Plenty have attached garages, and those lease quickly. Ask in writing whether the garage is part of the base rent or a separate monthly charge. It varies enough between buildings to change which one is cheaper.
The large management companies along MacArthur have set rules, but their income bar is lower than at the newer, pricier communities in Las Colinas and along SH-114. Most take pets, with breed rules, weight limits and monthly pet rent that differ by property.
Sleep days after a night shift? Ask how close the unit is to the pool equipment and the breezeways. Maintenance work and foot traffic keep their own hours.

The Campion Trail sits in the Elm Fork floodplain, so parts of it close after heavy rain; check before a long ride. If you work at the airport, try the drive at your shift hour, since early morning and late night times run shorter than our 8am numbers.
North Irving questions
What kind of apartments are in North Irving?
Mostly older gated garden communities along MacArthur Boulevard, Story Road and Esters Road, with covered parking and many attached garages. Newer, pricier buildings sit along SH-114 toward Coppell. Along MacArthur, the median one bedroom, with specials spread out, is $1,152 right now.
Is the garage included in the rent?
Sometimes. Some buildings include it in the rent and others bill it monthly, and it can even change from unit to unit. Get it in writing and add it to your monthly total.
How loud is the airplane noise in North Irving?
It changes with the address and the runways in use. Visit twice, once at a busy departure hour, before you commit.
Do MacArthur corridor buildings take low credit scores?
Often. The older MacArthur communities have set rules but a lower income bar than the newer buildings, so steady income goes a long way. Our low credit page covers your options.
How far is North Irving from the DFW employee lots?
A short drive from most MacArthur addresses. Time it from the unit to your own lot at your shift start, since early morning runs differ from rush hour.
Does DART serve North Irving?
Yes, through the Orange Line at Belt Line and DFW Airport Terminal A, plus Irving's bus routes. Time the walk to the station first.
Which school district serves North Irving?
Mostly Irving ISD, with the north edge in Coppell ISD and some addresses in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. Check the address with the district.
Is there an apartment locator near North Irving?
Yes. Along MacArthur we ask about what listings skip: whether the garage costs extra, how each manager weighs credit, and which units are quiet enough to sleep days after an airport shift.
Near North Irving
Las Colinas and the rest of Irving are next door, and Northwest Dallas and Love Field lie east along TX-183 and TX-114.
