Errands run south to Little Elm and The Colony or west to Denton. The lake is the local draw, with boat ramps and parks along the shore.

There's no regular apartment complex in either town. Rentals are houses, some on big country lots and some in newer subdivisions. The bigger lots near the lake cost more and may use a well or septic system.
Rental home companies publish their rules and often approve with conditions when income is solid. Individual owners choose their own lease length, pet rules, parking and yard duties, which makes their answers harder to predict.
Power, water and sewer all vary here, and some homes can't shop for power, so ask before you sign.

We found no train or bus stop within 3 miles, so every trip starts in a car. FM 720 runs through Oak Point down to US-380, and US-380 takes you west to Denton or east toward Prosper and McKinney. At 8am, our drive times put Legacy West about 34 minutes away, DFW Airport about 49, the Medical District about 51 and Downtown Dallas about 55. To the south in Little Elm, the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge on Eldorado Parkway is the paid shortcut west toward I-35E.
