Medical District Dallas Apartment Locator: Homes Close to the Hospital Campus
As your Medical District Dallas apartment locator, we checked 16 places this week, with prices from $972 a month after free rent. The Medical District lines up UT Southwestern, Parkland and Children's Health along Harry Hines Boulevard, and most searches here start with a job at one of them. Newer midrises cluster on Maple Avenue and Medical District Drive. Older garden complexes line Harry Hines, Inwood and Maple, and that's where you'll find looser approval rules and short leases. A train stop sits right at the campus, which can save you a parking permit.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

- We settle lease length first, since a 13 week travel contract is priced nothing like a year lease

- Ways to get approved for residents and new doctors with strong future income and a thin credit file
- Bedrooms that go fully dark and sit away from the pool, for anyone who sleeps days
Getting to Campus: Trains, Driving and Parking
The corridor follows Harry Hines Boulevard from the Market Center area north toward Mockingbird Lane, with Maple Avenue, Medical District Drive and Inwood Road as its other main streets. UT Southwestern, Clements, Parkland, Children's Health and Zale Lipshy all sit on the campus.
Southwestern Medical District/Parkland station, on the Green and Orange lines, stops at the campus itself, and Inwood/Love Field station is one stop north. Campus parking permits cost extra and can have a waitlist, so a home within walking distance of either station can save you that cost. Love Field is a few minutes up Inwood.
Harry Hines and Inwood reach Stemmons in minutes, and Oak Lawn sits right next door, with Victory Park and the Design District a short drive south. With a job on campus, you can look in all three and keep the commute short.
Three Kinds of Buildings, and Which One Fits You
The newest buildings are midrises on Maple and Medical District Drive, and they screen the usual way. Many accept a guarantee company, a larger deposit or proof of savings. Residents and new doctors with little credit history often go one of those ways.
In between sit older buildings with lighter updates, and the rules there depend on the management company. At the far end are the garden complexes along Harry Hines, Maple and Inwood. They're among the few places this close to downtown where a manager can still decide on an application by hand. A few offer month to month terms at a higher rent.
Pets are allowed across all three groups. Breed and weight rules change by owner, so we look them up for each property. Furnished and extended stay units here mostly serve hospital assignments and cost well above unfurnished ones.

What we tell renters near the hospitals
If you sleep days, ask which way the bedroom faces and visit at the hour you'd be asleep. Homes near Bachman Lake hear planes on their way in to Love Field. On Mavericks and Stars nights, I-35E by the arena backs up before the game, which slows an evening drive south toward Downtown.
Medical District / Southwestern questions
Is there travel nurse housing near the hospitals?
Yes. Furnished and extended stay units around the campus are set up for 13 week assignments at UT Southwestern, Parkland and Children's Health. Tell us your contract dates first, since many places price short stays very differently from a year lease.
Can a resident or new physician with thin credit get approved?
Often, at the newer buildings and the ones in between. Many take a guarantee company, a bigger deposit or proof of savings when future income is strong and the credit file is short. Our credit guide explains the options.
Can I take the train to my shift?
Yes. Southwestern Medical District/Parkland station on the Green and Orange lines sits at the campus, and Inwood/Love Field is one stop north. The Trinity Strand Trail links the station area to the Design District by bike.
How do I find a quiet bedroom if I sleep days?
Ask which way the bedroom faces and how far it sits from the pool and courtyard, and visit at the hour you'd be asleep. Homes near Bachman Lake hear jets landing at Love Field.
Is there an apartment locator near the Medical District?
Yes. We work with hospital staff on everything from travel contracts to residencies that run several years. We cover the garden complexes on Harry Hines and Maple and the newer midrises by campus, and we'll look for lease lengths that fit your contract. On a year lease near the hospitals, one bedrooms sit at a $1,272 median, and the cheapest open unit nets $972 with its special.
