Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Far North Dallas Apartments Across Four School Districts
- The school district for each address, since four districts share this corridor
- Renovated and original units at the same complex, which rent at different prices, so ask which one you're quoted
- The A-train link at Trinity Mills when you need to reach Lewisville or Denton by rail
- Townhomes with a private garage on Frankford priced against an older garden unit
Getting Around: the Tollway, the Silver Line and Tolls
Three main roads run north and south. The Dallas North Tollway cuts through the western half, south to North Dallas and Uptown and north to Legacy. Preston and Coit run parallel to the east, free but slower at rush hour. The Bush Turnpike crosses the top and LBJ marks the bottom.
Knoll Trail station, on the Silver Line near Arapaho and the Tollway, is the one rail stop inside the area. Trains run west to DFW Airport and east to Richardson and Plano. Two Green Line stops sit just west in Carrollton, and at Trinity Mills the Green Line meets DCTA's A-train, which heads north through Lewisville.
Tolls add up fast when you drive the Tollway and the Turnpike every day. Price your trip on NTTA's toll calculator, and compare each building's rent plus tolls before you choose.
How Garden Units, Midrises and Townhomes Compare
Older garden complexes along Coit, Preston and Frankford make up most of the rentals. Many were updated in the past decade, so one complex often prices renovated and original units differently. Check small things too (does the gate open only by phone app?).
Midrises near the Tollway come with the usual list of fees, and many run specials. Ask two things: does the quote already include one, and what does month thirteen look like?
Townhomes along Frankford, most rented by their owners, come with a private garage, for a good bit more than a garden unit. If you've settled the school district and want the garage, the monthly difference is what decides it.

Far North Dallas questions
Which school district is my Far North Dallas address in?
It could be Dallas, Plano, Richardson or Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, whatever the mailing address says, and neighbors on Coit can fall in different ones. Each district's address lookup gives the final answer.
Can I reach Denton by train from Far North Dallas?
Yes. Ride the Green Line from Trinity Mills or North Carrollton/Frankford, just west in Carrollton, then switch at Trinity Mills, where DCTA's A-train runs on through Lewisville to Denton.
Why does one complex show two prices?
Many older complexes on Coit and Frankford were partly renovated, and they rent updated and original units at different prices under one name. Ask which kind each quote covers. Across Far North Dallas, the typical one bedroom is $1,015 and the cheapest open one is $712, with free rent counted.
Are there townhomes for rent in Far North Dallas?
Yes. Townhomes with private garages turn up along Frankford, most rented by their owners. They cost more than a garden apartment, so weigh the garage and space against the monthly difference.
Is there an apartment locator for Far North Dallas?
Yes. We cover it from LBJ to the Bush Turnpike: garden complexes, Tollway midrises and the Frankford townhomes. We send the places that fit your budget. Check each address on the district's lookup before you apply, since the district has the final say.
