A good share of its rentals are houses, duplexes and townhomes inside HOAs, leased by their owners. The newer, walkable buildings at Cypress Waters sit just over the line in Dallas yet are zoned to Coppell ISD. DFW Airport is next door, and Coppell isn't a DART member.

Renting a house or an apartment in Coppell?
A 3 bedroom house and a 3 bedroom apartment after free rent cost about the same here.
With a house you usually get a yard, more room and no shared walls. You often pay water, trash and yard care yourself, and deposits can run higher.
With an apartment you pay community fees each month for things like parking, trash and amenities. Free rent usually needs a lease of 12 months or more, and the staff on site handles repairs.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes
When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Areas we cover inside Coppell
Old Town CoppellOld Town sits on Bethel Road near Coppell Road, a newer walkable district built around the city's historic center.
A few townhomes and newer apartments sit within walking distance of its shops and the farmers market square.
Denton Tap RoadDenton Tap Road is the main street of Coppell, lined with shopping centers, Town Center and city hall.
Garden apartments from the 1980s and 1990s sit just off it, and it runs south to SH-121 and I-635.
MacArthur BoulevardOn Coppell's east side, MacArthur Boulevard runs south into Irving and Valley Ranch.
Apartment communities line stretches of it, and it's the quick way to LBJ Freeway and the offices in Las Colinas.
Cypress WatersCypress Waters is the newer district of homes, shops and offices around North Lake off Belt Line Road.
It sits inside Dallas city limits but is served by Coppell ISD. Most homes are in newer midsize apartment buildings on streets you can walk, with I-635 and the DART Silver Line's Cypress Waters station nearby.
North LakeNorth Lake is the reservoir south of Coppell, between Belt Line Road and I-635, with Cypress Waters on its east shore.
Apartments near the water are newer buildings, and DFW Airport is a few minutes west.

Coppell Apartment Locator Help With HOA Townhomes and Few Complexes
- Coppell ISD lines to check street by street, including the Cypress Waters blocks inside Dallas city limits
- Valley Ranch and North Irving lined up as backups when Coppell's short list runs out
- DFW flight paths to hear for yourself at each address, even on a rushed job move
SH-121, SH-114, DFW next door and no DART
SH-121 runs west toward Grapevine and Fort Worth and east toward Plano. SH-114 skirts the south side into Las Colinas and Dallas. I-635 is the east and west link to I-35E and the Tollway. DFW Airport is minutes away on SH-121 or SH-114, which is why so many relocations land here.
Coppell isn't in DART, so there's no local bus or train. The Silver Line stops at Cypress Waters station, just over the line in Dallas, with trains about every 30 minutes at the weekday peak and hourly otherwise. Old Town Coppell is walkable; nearly everything else takes a car.
Planes are the price of a short airport commute. Runway use shifts with the wind, so two blocks can sound very different from one day to the next. Hear the address for yourself before you sign.
Few complexes, homes leased by owners and Cypress Waters
Apartment complexes are scarce: a few near Belt Line Road and MacArthur Boulevard, and newer buildings with walkable streets at Cypress Waters on the Dallas side. Cypress Waters sits inside Dallas yet is zoned to Coppell ISD (it trips up almost everyone), so confirm the exact address on the district's map.
Much of what rents is houses, duplexes and townhomes leased by their owners, many in HOAs whose parking, pet and lawn rules sit outside the lease. Each owner treats a rocky rental history differently.
The complexes tend to screen by set rules with little give. With credit or history problems, Valley Ranch and the MacArthur corridor in North Irving offer more apartments at similar or lower rents. Part of Valley Ranch is in Coppell ISD too.

Woods, ponds and ballfields
Coppell Nature Park, close to the center of Coppell, has dirt paths under the trees and feels far from any road. Andrew Brown Park West, about 2 miles out, is the busiest of the Andrew Brown parks, with plenty of room for a long walk or a game. Wagon Wheel Park and Grapevine Springs Park are smaller and close in. Over at Cypress Waters, a trail follows the water near the train stop.
Coppell Nature Park
Go early on a summer morning for shade on the dirt paths, and wear shoes you don't mind getting muddy after rain.
- Shady walks
- Quiet mornings
Andrew Brown Park West
Use it for an evening walk or a pickup game; it's the big city park you'll likely use week to week.
- Evening walks

Barbecue in town, patios by the lake
Hard Eight BBQ sits near the middle of Coppell and draws people from all over the area. You pick your meat right off the pit outside, then pay by the pound. For a night out, The Sound at Cypress Waters puts restaurants and patios around a lawn by the lake, and a stage that hosts live music. Grapevine Mills, a few minutes west, adds a ring of chain restaurants for an easy weeknight dinner.

Grapevine Mills, just across the line in Grapevine, is a huge outlet mall for clothes and shoes. On Saturday mornings the Coppell Farmers Market sets up on Main Street in Old Town, 8am to noon, with later winter hours starting in November.

Grapevine Mills
Go on a weekday night when the lots are empty; weekends and December bring heavy traffic on the roads around it.

What we tell renters about Coppell
If you plan to ride the Silver Line, check the schedule first: outside rush hour a train comes about once an hour. Grapevine Mills traffic backs up the nearby roads on weekends and all through December, so time errands on that side of town for weeknights. The farmers market shifts to a later start in the winter months, so check the hours before you walk over.
Coppell questions
How many apartment complexes does Coppell have?
Not many: a few near Belt Line Road and MacArthur Boulevard, plus newer buildings at Cypress Waters on the Dallas side. Owners lease out most of the other homes: houses, duplexes, townhomes. With those counted, a Coppell one bedroom comes in around $1,364 each month.
Is Cypress Waters really zoned to Coppell ISD?
Yes. It's inside Dallas city limits but zoned to Coppell ISD, which confuses nearly everyone. If enrollment matters, check the exact address on the district's boundary map before you sign.
Can I take a train from Coppell?
Only from the edge. Coppell isn't a DART member, but the Silver Line stops at Cypress Waters station just over the line. Valley Ranch and North Irving are a short drive from Orange Line stations in Las Colinas.
Do HOA rules apply when I rent a Coppell townhome?
Yes. Parking limits, car counts, pets and lawn care live in the HOA documents, not the lease, and you have to follow them once you sign. Ask for the full set before you apply.
Where do renters look when Coppell has nothing open?
Valley Ranch first, since parts of it are in Coppell ISD, then the gated garden communities on MacArthur in North Irving. Lewisville and Carrollton widen it further.
Will Coppell complexes work with a rough credit file?
Not often. Most screen by set rules with little give, and owners vary widely. Valley Ranch and the MacArthur corridor give better odds at similar rents.
Is there an apartment locator near Coppell?
Yes. With so few complexes, we work Coppell and its edges together. That means Old Town and the complexes near Belt Line and MacArthur, Cypress Waters for Coppell ISD inside Dallas, and Valley Ranch when the city runs dry.
Near Coppell
Valley Ranch is just south past the Irving line, North Irving runs down MacArthur Boulevard, and Carrollton sits across I-35E to the east.
