Pick what you want. We compare each deal with buildings like it here: same size, about the same age.

Why our prices are lower than what the community quotes

When a community gives free rent, we spread it over the whole lease and show what you pay a month on average. The community quotes the full rent, and many take the free rent off your first months. You pay the same total either way. Our way lets you compare one deal with another. Fees and the deposit are extra.

Areas we cover inside Anna

  • Downtown AnnaThe old core sits along Fourth Street and the rail line, a small grid of older streets a short drive from US-75.

Rentals here run to older houses and duplexes rather than complexes.

  • Anna Town CenterAnna Town Center is the big retail project at the northeast corner of US-75 and FM 455 (White Street), anchored by Walmart and Home Depot.

Newer apartments cluster near it, so groceries and the highway are minutes away.

  • Slayter CreekSlayter Creek Park, one of the city's main parks, gives this side of Anna its trail, ballfields and open green space.

Around it you'll mostly find newer subdivisions, so a rental here usually means a house, not an apartment.

  • Natural SpringsNamed for Natural Springs Park, this pocket of newer houses sits within a short drive of US-75.

Expect houses for rent, many of them built to rent, with the park's trail and playground as the local gathering spot.

  • Sherley Heritage ParkSherley Heritage Park sits by the old downtown, and the streets around it are some of the oldest in Anna.

Older frame houses and a few small rentals make up most of what's for lease nearby.

  • US-75 CorridorMost of Anna's newer apartment buildings and streets of rental houses line up within a mile of US-75.

It's the quickest route south to McKinney and Allen, though noise from the frontage road carries to apartments facing the highway.

  • North AnnaNorth of FM 455 the city turns into newer subdivisions and open land still being built out toward Van Alstyne.

Leases up here are mostly houses, and US-75 is the way in and out.

Anna Apartments and Rental Houses at the North End of US-75

  • The morning US-75 drive through McKinney: time it from the address, since that's what makes or breaks Anna
  • We look up each rental home company's screening rules, since there's little older housing to fall back on
  • Co-op or Oncor power and the school district: check both for an address before you apply

One freeway south and a long 8am

US-75 is the only freeway in or out, south through Melissa, McKinney and Allen to Plano, Richardson and Dallas, north to Sherman. Anna has no DART service and no train, so plan on a car for everything.

Morning traffic stacks up through McKinney most weekdays, so a job in Richardson or along US-75 in Plano takes far longer at 8am than the miles suggest. A job in Frisco or at Legacy West means another leg west on top of that.

Houses built to rent, a few apartments and co-op power

Anna grew fast along US-75, one subdivision at a time. Most rentals are houses built to rent or rented out by their owners, with a short list of newer apartments near the freeway. If those landlords turn you down, there's very little older housing to try next. That's why the first match matters so much here.

The companies that build these houses to rent have written screening rules. With steady income, many will say yes with conditions, like a larger deposit, a co-signer or a guarantor. Private owners do that less often. Most take pets with a deposit and pet rent, under their own breed and weight rules.

Some streets get power from a co-op, so there's no plan to shop. Others are on Oncor, where you can pick a plan. Ask which before you budget.

Our drive times put Legacy West about 44 minutes away at 8am and Downtown Dallas about 74. DFW Airport is about 65. For quick trips, the Walmart Supercenter and the stores at Anna Town Center sit near US-75 and FM 455, so most errands stay inside town. Anna questions

How long is the drive from here to Plano at 8am?

Much longer than the miles. US-75 slows through McKinney and into Plano most mornings, and Downtown Dallas is more than 40 miles south. Drive it at your start time before you choose.

Who supplies electricity in Anna?

Depends on the street. A co-op home buys power from the co-op, so there's no plan to shop. Oncor homes can pick a plan. Get the provider for the exact unit.

Are there actual apartments here, or just houses?

Mostly houses, many on streets built to rent, with a short list of apartment communities by US-75 and more coming. What's open changes month to month. In and around Anna, an open one bedroom apartment runs about $1,060 as of this week.

Is my address in Anna ISD?

Most of Anna is, but a few edges fall in other districts. A mailing address can't settle it, but the district's lookup can.

Will an Anna landlord work with a complicated credit history?

Often, through the rental home companies. They screen by written rules and are quicker than private owners to say yes with conditions. With little older housing as a backup, getting the first application right counts for more in Anna than in older suburbs.

Do build to rent homes in Anna take pets?

Most do, with a pet deposit and monthly pet rent. Breed lists, weight caps and pet counts differ by company, and a subdivision HOA can add rules, so read the HOA's pet rules before you pay an application fee.

Is there an apartment locator near Anna?

Yes. Most rentals in Anna are houses built to rent, so we look up each company's screening rules and tell you what we find before you apply. That can save a wasted application in a town with few second options.
