# Lewisville Apartment Locator: A-Train Stops, Older Garden Homes and Castle Hills

Lewisville has one of Denton County's widest spreads of rentals: older garden communities along Mill Street and Valley Ridge, newer buildings on SH-121 and in Castle Hills, and plenty of houses and townhomes. It's one of the better places in the county, too, if your credit has a few dents. The A-train stops in Old Town, a short walk from the restored downtown blocks, and I-35E runs straight to Dallas.

## Lewisville rents this week

We check these numbers every week. Updated November 6, 2026. Where a place has a firm move-in special, its rent counts the free rent spread evenly over the lease. Rents are before fees. 39 communities in Lewisville had homes available; 22 listed a move-in special. Method: https://apartmentlocatordallas.com/rent-data-methodology/

Our read this week: Newer buildings here cost about $266 more a month than middle age ones, even after their free rent ($1,385 vs. $1,119 for a 1 bedroom). If price matters most, start with the older buildings. 5 buildings here are brand new or still opening, and 3 of them have a move-in special right now. New buildings have to fill up fast, so they usually give the biggest deals. The typical 2 bedroom dropped $76 since November 1.

## Areas we cover inside Lewisville

- **Old Town Lewisville**: Old Town centers on Main Street and Mill Street near Wayne Ferguson Plaza and the Medical City Lewisville campus. The A-train's Old Town station is a few blocks east, and newer apartments sit near the station.
- **Castle Hills**: Castle Hills is the large planned community in southeast Lewisville off SH-121 and the Sam Rayburn Tollway. It mixes houses, townhomes and newer midsize apartment buildings, and the tollway reaches Plano and Frisco fast.
- **Mill Street**: Mill Street runs north and south through Old Town, crossing Main Street. Older houses and small apartment buildings line it, with the Old Town A-train station and downtown shops within walking distance.
- **Valley Ridge**: Valley Ridge Boulevard crosses south Lewisville near I-35E, with apartment communities, shopping and offices along it. It's close to the interstate and to the Hebron A-train station.
- **Main Street**: Main Street (FM 1171) crosses Lewisville east to west, from I-35E through Old Town and out toward Flower Mound. Garden communities and older strip centers sit along it, with backups near the interstate.
- **SH-121 Corridor**: Along Lewisville's south edge, SH-121 ties I-35E to the Sam Rayburn Tollway and Coppell. Newer apartments cluster near the Hebron area and the I-35E interchange, with highway access in every direction.

## Lewisville Apartments: Denton County's Widest Price Range

- We match Old Town and Hebron A-train stops to your commute, with the Green Line transfer at Trinity Mills
- We ask about split water bills at older Mill Street and Valley Ridge buildings before you sign
- We match your credit history to buildings that take it, from SH-121 approvals with conditions to Mill Street managers

## The A-train, I-35E and SH-121

The DCTA A-train stops at Highland Village/Lewisville Lake, Old Town and Hebron, then runs south to Trinity Mills in Carrollton for the DART Green Line into Dallas. Old Town is the one you can live beside, with the platform inside the restored district.

I-35E runs north and south through the city, straight down to Dallas. SH-121, the Sam Rayburn Tollway, crosses the south side toward Frisco and Plano one way and DFW Airport the other. Some I-35E frontage road entrances are hard to find, so take directions from the property rather than a map pin.

Lewisville ISD serves most addresses, and a few near the edges fall in Coppell ISD or another neighbor. Check the exact address.

## Rentals from Castle Hills to Mill Street

Newer apartments cluster along SH-121 and in Castle Hills, the planned community on the east side. They post their income and credit requirements and sometimes offer specials on longer leases.

Older garden communities, many renovated, fill Mill Street, Valley Ridge and the original Main Street. They have set rules, but many approve credit problems with conditions. Some Mill Street and Valley Ridge buildings work with a messy rental history. Many of them split one water bill among the units, so your share goes up and down with the whole building's use.

Houses, townhomes and rental home communities are a big piece of the market, and a search of apartments alone misses them.

## Living around Lewisville Lake

Lewisville wraps around the south end of Lewisville Lake, with a walkable Old Town, a commuter train and big lake parks. I-35E runs through the middle and sets the pace of most commutes.

### The A-train and I-35E

DCTA's A-train stops at Old Town Station, a few blocks from Main Street, plus Hebron Station and Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station. Ride south and change at Trinity Mills in Carrollton for DART's Green Line into Dallas. Driving at 8am, figure about 19 minutes to Legacy West and 23 to DFW Airport, with the Medical District at 37 and Downtown Dallas at 41. I-35E cuts through the middle of town and crawls at rush hour.

- **Old Town Station** (rail station): Walk to the A-train from Old Town and transfer to the Green Line for a Dallas game or show.

### Lake parks and a big nature preserve

Lake Park, on the south shore of Lewisville Lake, has a golf course and lots of picnic spots by the water. LLELA Nature Preserve has trails through prairie, woods and wetlands along the Elm Fork. Railroad Park packs ballfields, a skate park and a dog park into one place, and the Old Town Splash Park cools things down in summer.

- **LLELA Nature Preserve** (nature preserve): Hike the trails on a cool morning and bring bug spray for the wetlands.
- **Lake Park** (lake park): Spend a summer evening on the shore, or play a round at the golf course next door.
- **Lewisville Railroad Park** (park): Let the dog run at the dog park, then watch the skaters at the skate park on a weekend morning.

### Old Town and Korean barbecue

Old Town Lewisville, around Main Street and Mill Street, is the walkable dinner spot, with restaurants and a coffee shop around Wayne Ferguson Plaza. On the east side of town, Manna Korean BBQ grills meat at your table and draws big weekend crowds. Chain restaurants line I-35E and the shopping centers around Vista Ridge.

- **Wayne Ferguson Plaza** (town square): Meet friends for coffee or dinner on Main Street, then sit out on the plaza on a warm night.
- **Manna Korean BBQ** (Korean barbecue): Bring a group on a weeknight to grill at the table; weekend waits run long.

### Vista Ridge and the weekly run

Most big shopping sits around Vista Ridge on the east side, where Vista Ridge Village and the centers around it have the big box stores. Zion Market, in the old Sears building at Music City Mall, is a large Korean grocery. Closer to Old Town, WinCo Foods and El Rancho Supermercado handle low cost weekly runs, and ALDI and two Tom Thumbs round it out.

- **Zion Market** (grocery): Shop for Korean staples, produce and snacks on a weekday, when the aisles are calm.
- **Vista Ridge Village** (shopping center): Do the big box run here in one stop, ideally on a weekday when the lots are calm.

### Western Days and a night at the theater

Western Days takes over Old Town each September with concerts, food and games. The Lewisville Grand Theater, steps from Wayne Ferguson Plaza, hosts plays, concerts and art shows the rest of the year.

- **Lewisville Grand Theater** (theater): Check the season schedule for a play or concert, then eat in Old Town before the show.
- **Western Days** (festival): Check the city's page for free entry hours, then stay for the headliner on the main stage.

### What we tell renters about Lewisville

I-35E is the weak spot in most commutes, so a home near an A-train stop or close to SH-121 can save you a lot of time. Western Days weekend closes streets in Old Town and fills the parking. Lake parks get packed on summer weekends, so go early.

## Lewisville questions

Can I go without a car in Lewisville?

Only in Old Town, where the A-train platform is a walk from restaurants and the MCL Grand Theater, with a transfer to the Green Line at Trinity Mills. Everywhere else, you'll want a car.

Do older Lewisville apartments split the water bill?

Many on Mill Street and Valley Ridge do, dividing one bill among all residents. Ask how water is billed and add it before you compare.

Why is it hard to find some I-35E entrances?

The frontage roads make some driveways tricky, and a map pin at the leasing office can miss the real entrance. Call for directions before you go.

Which part of Lewisville is easiest on screening?

Mill Street and Valley Ridge. Many older garden communities there approve with conditions, though income still decides. Across Lewisville, one bedrooms are averaging $1,253 after free rent in this week's data.

What is LLELA?

The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. It's a preserve beside the lake along the Elm Fork of the Trinity, with trails through prairie, wetland and hardwood forest, a short drive from most of the city.

What is Castle Hills?

The planned community on Lewisville's east side, where newer apartments and rental home communities cluster. Screening there follows the usual rules, and some buildings have specials.

Is there an apartment locator near Lewisville?

Yes. Lewisville's range is wide, so we sort by what you need. That might be an Old Town home by the A-train, a new Castle Hills building with a special, or a Mill Street building that works with credit problems.
